My name is Michael Vipond Wardell. I was born in Northumberland in 1940 and continued to live there until I went to university. Almost all of my working life was spent in teaching in the North East of England.

Since I retired I have developed an interest in Local and Family history and have amassed and transcribed information about the village of Rolleston on Dove in Staffordshire, where I now live, and the village of Garrigill near Alston in Cumbria, where one branch of my family originated, as well as my Family Tree. It has been suggested that this information could be of interest to a wider audience. I have begun sharing it on this web site, where it can be viewed and downloaded free.
